Salty Johnson is a sustainable swimwear brand born on the shores of Bondi Beach, Sydney. We make bold, performance-driven swimwear for men and women who live in, on and around the water — and who give a damn about what happens to it.

Every piece in our range is made from REPREVE® recycled performance fabric: certified, traceable, and built from approximately 11 recycled plastic bottles per garment. That's not a marketing line. It's a number you can verify through REPREVE's own FiberPrint® traceability technology.

 

Why We Started

Tom Johnson, founder, lifelong swimmer, and Bondi local, started Salty Johnson with a simple belief: that the best swimwear shouldn't cost the ocean anything.

The idea came from years of watching single-use plastic wash up on the same beaches he'd been swimming since childhood. If the fabric for performance swimwear already exists, recycled, strong, chlorine-resistant, better in every measurable way, then there's no excuse not to use it.

Salty Johnson launched from a desk in Bondi and has been growing ever since, building a community of swimmers, surfers, and saltwater addicts who want their gear to match their values.

 

What We Make

We design premium swimwear for people who actually use it, men's swim briefs, board shorts, women's one-piece swimsuits, and matching Him & Her sets. All styles are:

•       UPF 50+ rated - full sun protection for ocean, pool and everything between

•       Chlorine-resistant - built to survive lap sessions, not just beach holidays
