Black Friday + Boxing Day Recap: What Sold Out, What We Learned, and What’s Next
If you’re new here: we’re Salty Johnson, premium swimwear built for the beach, the pool, and the “one more swim” crew.
Black Friday and Boxing Day were huge for us. Not in the “generic sale” way although Saltys FLEW, in the “we saw exactly what customers really want” way.
So here’s the honest recap: what performed, what sold out, what surprised us, and what we’re doing next.
The headline: the women’s one-pieces went FAST
We knew our women’s range was building momentum, but the one-pieces absolutely stole the show.
Across Black Friday and Boxing Day:
-
several of our women’s one-piece styles sold out
-
the most popular sizes went first (no surprises there)
-
we had repeat customers coming back for seconds, and new customers buying their first Salty piece off the back of the hype
That’s the type of signal you can’t ignore.
If you’re reading this now: we still have some one-pieces left in select sizes/colours, but it’s genuinely limited until the restock lands.

What actually made them perform
We’re not going to pretend it’s magic. The women’s one-pieces did well for a few very simple reasons:
1) They stay put
Swimwear that moves is swimwear you stop wearing. These are made to feel secure when you’re actually doing something, swimming, surfing, running around on sand, diving in without adjusting straps every five minutes.
2) Confidence coverage (without being boring)
The fit is designed to be flattering and functional. Cheeky where it counts, supportive where it matters, without feeling like you’re wearing something built for a different decade.
3) They photograph well (and that matters)
People don’t just buy for the beach, they buy for holidays, weekends, boat days, pool hangs, and yes… photos. A one-piece that fits properly and looks clean in the wild wins every time.
The biggest lesson: sell-outs don’t happen by accident
When a product sells out across a major sale period, it’s telling you something:
-
the product is right
-
the sizing/fit is working
-
the price to value makes sense
-
and the demand is bigger than the current supply
So instead of pretending everything’s “always available”, we’re using this as a signal to build smarter, a LOT smarter.
What we’re doing next (restock + improvements)
Restock is in motion
We’re already working on a restock of the strongest women’s one-piece performers.
If your size is out, don’t rely on checking back manually, the best sizes will go again.
We’re tightening our forecasting
Black Friday and Boxing Day show you what’s real, not what you think will sell. We’re taking those learnings into how we buy, what we prioritise, and how we plan new colours/styles.
More women’s focus in 2026
If the last few months showed anything, it’s that women’s swim is a major growth lane for Salty. More fit refinement, more colour stories, and more options that still feel premium and functional. Maybe even Bikinis ;)
What’s still available right now (before the restock)
At the time of publishing this blog, we’ve still got a few women’s one-pieces left, but only in select sizes/colourways.
If you’ve been thinking about grabbing one, this is the window before the next wave lands.

Quick fit note (so you love it on the first wear)
If you’re between sizes, the quickest way to get it right is to decide what you want most:
-
Locked-in, secure fit: true to size
-
More relaxed fit: Go a size up

Final word
We’re stoked. but we’re also paying attention.
Black Friday and Boxing Day weren’t just a sales event. They were a live test of what you actually want. And the women’s one-pieces gave a loud, clear answer. As did the Men's Briefs, but they've been firing for a while now.
Thanks for backing the brand. Restock soon.
