Who we are looking for
Not an influencer list. A crew.
We are not interested in a swimsuit on a hotel lounger. We want the 6am ones, the grey and windy ones, the ones where someone gets in anyway.
Follower count is not the filter. We would rather have 800 people who trust you than 80,000 who scroll past. If you swim, surf, run, lift or simply live by the coast, and your people listen to you, you are who we are looking for. Based anywhere in Australia.

What we ask
Real content in real water. That is about it.
- One reel or post a month in real water, plus a couple of stories. Your style, not ours.
- Tag @salty.johnson so we can find it, share it and pay your content bounty.
- Always disclose. Use the Paid Partnership label or put #ad at the start of your caption. It is the law in Australia and it protects you.
- Keep it true. Say what you have actually experienced. On fabric, stick to our approved wording: made from REPREVE recycled fibre, UPF 50+, chlorine resistant.
- Share with your people. Not on coupon sites, not in the comments of our posts, not in paid search ads on our name.

Salty Squad FAQs
Do I need a big following?
No. Plenty of our best ambassadors have under 2,000 followers. We care about whether you are in the water and whether your people trust you.
How much does my crew save?
15% off their first order with your code or your link. Codes cannot be combined with other discounts or sitewide sales.
How and when do I get paid?
Monthly. By the 15th of each month we pay you for the orders your crew placed the month before, less anything returned. Choose cash by bank transfer or store credit each month. Cash payouts start once you have $50 owing; anything under that rolls over.
Why is store credit worth more than cash?
Because it costs us less to give you gear than cash, so we pass the difference back to you. 25% or 30% in credit versus 15% or 20% in cash.
Do I need an ABN?
For cash payouts, yes, or a signed statement that this is a hobby for you. Without either, we are required to withhold tax, so we pay store credit instead. We are not tax advisers, so check your own situation.
How do I move up to Local or Legend?
Automatically. At the end of each quarter we count your orders. 5 or more and you are a Local next quarter. 15 or more and you are a Legend. Great content can also earn an invitation.
Can my club or team join?
Yes. Choose "Club or community organiser" in the form and tell us about your crew. Clubs get their own code and earn on every order, which works well as a fundraiser. Ask us about team kits too.
What if I am already a customer?
Even better. Many of our ambassadors started as customers. Apply below with the same email you shop with.

Salty Squad terms
Joining and leaving
- You must be 18 or over and live in Australia.
- Joining is by application and approval. We can approve, decline or remove any ambassador at our discretion.
- You can leave any time by emailing salty@saltyjohnson.com.au. We will pay what you have earned up to that date.
- If you have not made a sale or posted about us in 90 days, we may retire your code. You are welcome to reapply.
Your code and commission
- Your code gives new customers 15% off their first order. One use per customer. It cannot be combined with other discounts or sitewide sales.
- Commission is calculated on net sales: what the customer paid for products after discounts, excluding shipping and GST, less any returns or refunds.
- You do not earn commission on your own orders.
- Rates: Grom 15% cash or 25% store credit. Local and Legend 20% cash or 30% store credit. Levels are reviewed each quarter.
- We pay by the 15th of each month for the previous month. Cash payouts are made once $50 or more is owing. Returns processed after a payout are deducted from the next one.
- Cash payouts require an ABN or a signed hobby statement. Otherwise we pay in store credit.
Content and disclosure
- You must clearly disclose your relationship with Salty Johnson on every post that mentions us, using the platform's Paid Partnership label or #ad at the start of the caption.
- Only make claims based on your own real experience. Use our approved product wording for anything about fabric or sustainability.
- You keep ownership of your content. By tagging us you give us permission to repost it on our own channels with credit.
- We will ask before using your content in paid ads, and pay the content bounty when we do.
Fair play
- Do not post your code on coupon or deal sites, in the comments of our posts or other ambassadors' posts, or bid on Salty Johnson in paid search.
- Orders we reasonably believe are fraudulent or self-referred do not earn commission.
- We may update these terms and will tell you by email before any change takes effect.
